I began my career as a full time artist in 1985 after returning from a summer of study at the Art Students League in New York City.
The focus of my painting is Kansas in general and specifically the Flint Hills, the annual prairie burning and most recently, non objective landscapes and figurative painting.
My primary medium is oil on canvas which allows me to work on a larger scale and provides the depth of color that best translates my particular vision. I also work in a variety of other media including watercolor, pastel and acrylic.
Since 1985, I have had many solo and shared exhibitions. My work is featured in many corporate and private collections throughout the world and my paintings have been published in several national and regional books and magazines.
In addition to painting, I have created a new series of sculptures in bronze and glass.
